Cătălin Josan is a Romanian born in Chişinău, Republic of Moldova. He is an entirely new artist, becoming very popular recently, while participating and ending first in the Romanian music idol, Megastar. After winning the contest, he was offered the chance to record his first album with one of the newest Romanian records companies, together with a 1500$ monthly salary. This new album, released last month, is entitled sugestively 'Megastart' and contains 12 songs in a variety of styles: romantic or funny, melancholic or ironical, both in Romanian and English. One of its highlights is a 2 minutes entirely piano song composed by himself to which he is planning to add lyrics in the future.
Cătălin is 20 years old and is currently following the Art University in Chişinău. He has been studying piano for over 12 years and, probably influenced by his father (opera singer), has always dreamt to enter the music world. He first tried his luck in the Moldovan version of Music Idol and last year, after managing to obtain the Romanian citizenship, he entered the preselection for Megastar in Romania, where he participated for the Moldova region (in Romania*). Due to the fact his parents in Republic of Moldova already had Romanian citizenship, he managed to obtain it right before the contest, else formalities being very difficult. Now since winning the Megastar, he decided to move to Bucharest and start his musical career from here.
